I heard that if you have unused pixels on an lcd tv they will burn out over time. Like if you were watching a wide screen movie there are 2 black horizontal strips on the bottom and top.
Do pixels burn out if they are being unused in wide screen movies?

You're right that it wont happen in the lifetime of the LCD, but remember unlike a CRT black is ON in an LCD (blocking light) where as white is off (allowing light).![]()
