    Unused pixels help

I heard that if you have unused pixels on an lcd tv they will burn out over time. Like if you were watching a wide screen movie there are 2 black horizontal strips on the bottom and top.

Do pixels burn out if they are being unused in wide screen movies?
    thanks

no. it won't happen in the lifetime of your tv. And black is off, and tv's don't burn when you leave your tv off for years.

You're right that it wont happen in the lifetime of the LCD, but remember unlike a CRT black is ON in an LCD (blocking light) where as white is off (allowing light).

Yes that's right, I had a blonde moment!

But your backlight will burn out way before your pixels burn.
