    Touchscreen not responding!?!

I have a delong dl070ih touchscreen that I can not get to work correctly. My entire carputer is complete save this one thing. I have updated drivers(egalax) as suggested by Darquepervert, yet after installation and reboot, when I touch the screen, it moves the mouse cursor to the bottom right quadrant of the screen (no matter where I touch) and performs a right click. If I touch the screen in the bottom right quadrant, it send the cursor diagonaly to the top left quadrant until I remove my finger, at which point it returns to the boottom right. I have tried to get touchkit to calibrate, but the calibration fails to recognize I am touching the screen. Any hel would be greatly appreciated so I can finish this project this weekend. Thanks.

The bottom right syndrome is usually evidence of a broken overlay. You might need a new one. Not the whole screen, just the touch panel that goes on top.

Other things could be something in the casing pressing against the screen always, so doesn't matter where you touch, it will always go to the press caused by the something.

Also make sure to uninstall all of the touchscreen stuff you have installed, and then reinstall the touchkit drivers and try again. Sometimes windows is just picky...

how is your screen set up? is it unhacked? mounted on or in your dash? if it is still new and under warentee you might want to send it back and see if they can send you a new one (assuming the overlay is broken) if the scree casing has been hacked and the warentee voided/ or no warentee...then you can open it up, disassemle it and try to put it back together again and hope that clears up the issue too. just look for little peices of plastic of imperfections that might be pressing on the screen.

It is a 7" in dash non motorized. It is new (in the box never installed) but I have had it for some time gathering all the pieces for the carputer. I think it may be beyond warranty, so hacking may be the way. I read some posts while searching for answers to this problem about the casing causing this problem and was aware to look. I did not see anything that looked out of order, so any other suggestions before I dive in to taking the dash and TFT apart. I now I may be hoping against hope, but I want to give it one more shot. Any other driver suggestions or software solutions? Thanks again for your help.

software: completely uninstall all the TS drivers and start fresh with touchkit. Other than that, nada.

And did you try the credit card around the casing?

well you did say you were reading up on issues, one one method of getting the gunk out of hte casing of the screen is to taker a credit card and slowly and gently slide it through the casing and the screen, so that the cards edge pushes all the gunk out.

Since a CC is not sharp and it is thin and easy to obtain, that is why it used. The best way is of course to take apart the screen, but if you have a warranty, then that's out.

CC did not work, nor did taking apart. I can not get past the idea that I may have the wrong drivers. Are there any other than touchkit that may work. Thanks for the support. I am ordering a new touch panel just in case.
