Well put me down as +1 then, any chance you can post a video of it opening and closing?![]()
USD 450 + shipping. It's video composite model. Finishment quality is ok and it integrates perfectly with Maza6.
But we are not discussing about prices yet. First step is to see how many people is interested around the world. Then we'll talk about prices.
This price was for a single unit, and now we'll be talking about at least 50 - 60 units. On the other hand there is development cost and VGA+touchsecreen features.
For now the topic is who is interested if price were ok.
Well put me down as +1 then, any chance you can post a video of it opening and closing?![]()

It's really nice.
heyyyyyy.....this is such a wonderful idea, however, i was wondering whether u can manufacture such a screen for mazda 3 as well???!!!.....if u can do it, then plz im me...we might need A LOT of these monitors......
Is there something on the outside of the door?
I'm really interested in a Mazda3 version! However, the sample pic you showed from the manufacturer for the Mazda3 looks just like one of those single-din motorized flip-out displays packaged nicely into a dashboard mount. If this is the case, then I can not change the screen. I'd really like to be able to stick in one of those transflective display units! I would also like it to look a little less obvious that I have something going on in the dash for security reasons. I like how the Mazda6 version looks pretty OEM and looks hidden when closed. I guess my idea of a perfect LCD mount would look something like a motorized version on the "Retractable Navigation Box" found on japanparts.com. I may just settle for the manual version, instead of a motorized one since I can put in my own screen. I just wish it didn't cost like $250 to import from japanparts!!! I know that damn thing only costs like $10 to make.![]()

While everything is arranged to receive the VGA touchscreen sample, here you are a couple of short videos taken during last "2007 Mazda Meeting Point" in Spain. It's my unit (no VGA no touchscreen)
Monitor open/close (blue square is touchpad I use to control CarPC instead of touchscreen)
Rear camera
Just to help you to imagine it fitted in your car...
I'm definitely interested in this unit. Add me to the list, and if you want to contact me, give me an e-mail.
I'm on Mazda6club.com and registered as a buyer for the VGA touchscreen unit.
Can't wait till this is available. As soon as I figure out how to configure my CarPC, I'll be good to go!
2006 MazdaSpeed6
Bigger Turbo, tuned with supporting mods.
-CarPC in car and completely functional.....still tweaking minor things.
-Still trying to figure out the CarPC thing :)
