It looks like the test units shipped. People on the mazda6 forum have posted recieving tracking numbers.

I do have a question though that i posed on the other forum but have yet to recieve a definitive answer. Are the LCD pannels (not the LCD controller) the same as the lilliputs. If so would i be able swap in a transflective lilliput from the mp3car store into this housing and connect the LCD pannel to the controller board from this housing.

Any thoughts or insight on this would great. Also if i could just purchase the housing and controller that would be great so i dont end up with two pannels

Thanks for making sure to update here as well....totally forgot.

i def. feel you on swaping out the panel for another, but i highly doubt that will happen. There was another memeber by the name of Rudy that ordered the empty housing unit, and was in contact with the creator of the thread "Number 6", but Rudy has lost contact with this member, and it seems as if he has fallen off the face of the earth, hence why we can't update the first post in the thread. I'm going to go with a no that it wont work, but then again i could be wrong.....PM'd you the guys username on M6club

    Thanks bud and no problem.

I can see the issues with ordering just the housing alone. You would have to build the electronics to open and close the housing because the electronics are built into the LCD controller. This would be way more trouble than its worth In my opinion. As far ordering a complete unit and then dissasembling it to replace just the LCD Pannel (not the controller) I think this is possible as long the LCD Pannel is the same size and the the connectors are the same.

And since the Transflective upgrades that MP3Car puts out are in the LCD Pannel itself (and on the touchscreen) but not the controller you should be able to easily to get a Transflecive screen for 650 and rape the LCD pannel and swap it with the one that comes in the motorized mazda6 housing.

This isn't confirmed though. I have tried to confirm it with Jessica. I sent her an email a while ago asking about the details of the LCD Pannel and the size and brand and connectors and its compatibility with the lilliput pannel. I just filled out the form on their website to ask again. Maybe i will get a better response that way.

If anyone else has a better repore with her and would like to personally pose the questions that i would need clarification i would appriciate it.

basically this was brought up in the early pages...we had her make a test unit with the liliput screen, its about the same size if i recall correctly, and basically they weren't able to program the PVC properly. Thing is they have to outsource that part of the project, so its not exactly perfect. Honesly the only way you'll be able to get your screen to work is through programing/creating your own controler for the system.

as ffor the screen itself...she doesnt even know what brand it is......if you contact "mazdaspain" he might be able to inform you a little more about the liliput unit that Jessica sent to him. He might tell you that it worked great, except for the fact that it drained his battery. IMO liliput screens just aren't what they're cracked up to be, but if you want to give it a shot, when the reviews come in order a unit, and try to swap out the screen. Hopefully the PVC will function with your screen...?

thats just my thought process there...hope that helps.

    Thanks,

I appriciate the info. It does help. I always had the option of ordering it and giving it a go when they come available. If they arent using a Lilliput then the chances are that what i suggested will not work. Although controllers are swappable as long you have the same protocols and connectors.

I am not partial to the Lilliput except i have 3 already and am very experienced with the assembly and dissasembly and the main reason is that the product that MP3Car sells is a Lilliput with the transflective upgrades. My main goal is to acheive a direct sunlight readable screen. Thats all.

If Jessica doesn't know the information off hand I am sure she could find out with a couple emails to whoever they outsource too. If she doesn't want to bother, there is no hard feelings i guess we just will have to wait until someone gets theirs and takes it apart

    Thanks again for your comments.
