doesn't sound like you'll be able to do anything near stock looking without some major dash rework. do you have zoomed out pics? you'd be potentially looking at relocating some existing components.
Hey I have searched the internet for months now to find some monitor that will fit where my cd player is now. I want to install a mac mini with a touch screen. I also looked for a adaptor face plate or anything like that so that i can install a touchscreen. I have looked at some many touch screen monitors. Everyone i have looked at would require me cutting into my dash. Even cutting into my dash it would still not fit length ways because of how long my cd player is. OF course that would look really unattractive and having a cool touchscreen in your jeep is the opposite of what i want to accomplish. So... I was wondering if anyone here would have any suggestions for me to accomplish this. Maybe a monitor change for some way to add parts to the dash. I have a 07 Jeep Wrangler Here are some pictures of the sizes of my dash
Yeah thats something that I don't want to get it. I love taking things apart and adding but when it comes to cutting things that can't really be replaced easy I don't go near that. What do you mean by basic things needing to be removed? I guess if I can find some way to make this work where the cdplayer is now I will just have to attack it the the top of my jeep on the roll bar. Its not what I wanted but I suppose that just might have to do.
Thats an idea! Does anyone know how good of quality those monitors are? Maybe in comparison with the others
The monitors are identical...
The rotating stuff might break especially the motorized ones, but the LCD panels are the exact same ones...
ohhh I just read the ratings and comments doesn't sound like something I want. I like how the one guy put it. He said something like " Its hard to spend a lot of money and time into something that will be your dream car then only have it shot down by the poor monitor quality."
I'm pretty certain its the same parts ( hitachi lcd for example , same controller board etc.. ) , only difference is its put inside of a case that can close.
The bad reviews are on the radio part of the lilliput , not the screen itself. If you read these forums you will see most people use lilliput/xenarc screens. They are pretty much the best you can get.
I see. Well lets hope the rest of the deck doesn't crap out on me. Now to search the forums on how to hook audio up to the computer from my stock deck!
