Does anyone know what's the update on Navit routing on Garmin maps? At the moment the Garmin maps are the only half decent maps for Estonia, and I really really miss routing when using NavIT..

There were only one developer for libgarmin but it was long time ago since he was at #navit. Garmin maps are viewable, and searchable. But not routing. What about OSM, or MG maps?

The only thing i really wish it had was a way to search addresses or businesses by name around the "local" area.

Jeez, if i had that it'd be the perfect-ish program. I'd find a way to fix up the routing though so it stops telling me to take a half mile detour and loopback northeast when i want to head west.

Anyone know if the navit support team has their own user forums?

They hang out on chat.freenode.com in #navit. Also, http://www.navit-project.org will help you find additional support.

I have been playing with Navit for couple days,i manage to run it without maps for windows build.I tried to see libgarmin as we have a free great details garmin maps format source for the whole country of Indonesia.
I saw Kazer mention mbrola,we do have Indonesian TTS using it too.
I tried to read Cgwin documentation as musch as i can,and have installed default setup.
And now i am lost here trying to use it,so any help and direction what next to do would be appreciated. (notes:no Linux experience before)
This might hopefully be a perfect solution for me and lots of friends here.
    Thanks.
