so i'm noticing that both front ends and mac front ends have a sticky or list in each section.

is there a list of linux front ends?

    check out nghost at http://openice.org

I believe it's the only one in active development....

Someone needs to start a QT based front end so it can run on linux, mac and windows.

QT, is IMHO is a poor media player, and it'll be worse in the carpc environment.
Thats probably why no one has used it yet.

I'm pretty sure he means Qt, not QT (At least I hope). And I have a Qt-based front end which does run on Linux and Windows ( don't have a Mac to test it on). One of these days I'll get around to releasing it. It uses gstreamer on *nix, and direct sound on windows I believe as backends.

I am using the Ubuntu Mobile front-ends. They are not strictly speaking for car-pcs but lend themselves nicely.
