from the video, It seemed to be a very internet dependant os. And for a mp3 vehicle it did not seem practical.

what do you like about moblin2?

i have been running moblin 2.1 on a bootcamp partition on my mac. It runs really really fast, and isn't necessarily that internet dependent. The best part of moblin is that it is geared for smaller screens and even touch screens. the buttons are mostly bigger and easier to "click" with a finger. as well as most of the UI features are just easier to use in that manner. There are lots of "shortcuts" to things like the instant messenger and social networking (facebook). but those features are not forced on the user. Overall i think it is going to offer one of the best UIs for the in-car environment out there. If you haven't tried it out, go download the iso and virtualbox and give it a whirl (keep in mind that it will run very choppy in a vm but on actual hardware it is incredibly snappy), and let me know what you think.

You must be warned through it is designed for the intel atom boards. So if you run it off of anything else your results will extremly vary. Again it is designed for netbooks that use the atom boards. Please do not give this distrobution a bad rep because" ahhit sucks it won't even work on my AMD board"

That's why it doenst work well in vm's. Don't Belive me? Chrome OS Is the same way.

this is true. Moblin is compiled strictly for the atom processor. This is to try to get the fastest boot time possible. However, the ubuntu moblin remix is essentially ubuntu with the moblin UI instead of the traditional Gnome. So it supports a much broader range of hardware. In fact, i couldn't even get the moblin 2.1 (iso straight from moblin's website) to work at all in a vm, while ubuntu moblin remix worked like a charm. I was even able to get it to dual boot on my macbook pro, and it worked really well. I wasn't brave enough to try the strict moblin image.
