Weird calib issue!

Sorry for the double post (in a diff sub forum)..


I'm having trouble calibrating my no-name LCD touchscreen (via usb)

I read 2 posts on this site that didn't help me.. I'm stuck here;

(I) Copy X module egalax_drv.so to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input.

(Q) Which interface controller do you use?
(I) [1] RS232 [2] PS/2 [3] USB : 3
(I) Using interface: USB
(I) Found a non-HID compliant touch controller.

(E) No X configuration file found.

any ideas? I'm using 2 monitors currently, The one connected to my laptop and the one through the LCD, if that means anything?

hmm, seems like it is having problems w/ your Xorg.conf file. i wonder if it has anything to do with having both monitors connected. i would try unplugging your non-touch monitor and run the app again.

Also are you able to run TouchKit from terminal?

My non touch is my 15" Laptop LCD screen.. kinda hard to turn off lol

ps- I'm using Fedora 10, there is no xorg file

You can turn off the laptop screen on most laptops. On my dell it is fn-f8 to switch between laptop, external monitor, or both.

As for Fedora 10 not using an xorg.conf file. What are they thinking?

You sure there isn't an xorg.conf or another .conf file in /etc/X11?

At anyrate, if you don't have an xorg.conf file thats going to be a problem since the software is expecting to find one.

not sure but that might be a similar situation

xserver 1.4+ relies less on the xorg.conf as previous versions did. in fedora, you should just be able to sudo touch /etc/X11/xorg.conf and then rerun the touchkit setup.

You may need to stub some sections out. If that is the case, google "xorg.conf" and make a stub.
