Oooo, that's actually pretty cool.

In the meantime, what version have you built? GPSD's API has changed in the latest version, and while I've written what I assume is the code to work it, I haven't been able to test it

It's the exact same version as jaunty. I'm not sure I trust karmic's version and lucid has the same version as karmic right now so I don't have any motivation to backport either of those.
