Damn being an early adopter.
For what it's worth, I love my plug [*cough* plugcomputer interview] :-D
On the plugcomputer forums I've seen a lot of people using usb->vga adapters. Obviously the guruplug with hdmi is awesome, but there's no way in hell I believe they suck 5W [fairly moot since you're looking at a 185W PSU]. I modified one of my plugs to work in my car: http://icculus.org/obdgpslogger/sheevap5v/.
Erm. If you're not that familiar with linux, I would note that the plug isn't the most user friendly item in the world.
My plug goes from off to powered on and logging in about 15 seconds.
Just bumping this thread in case anyone has wise discussion to add. I'm thinking of ordering one of those new guruplug servers, too. Especially since they throw in a free JTAG module if you do it soon...
Thanks for the help. I've pulled an old PC out and starting the CarPC with WinXP rather than Linux for the time being. I still may grab one of the GuruPlugs to play with. It may be easier to setup as a home entertainment hub first, then try the CarPC thing later. I'm sure I'll be back. This Windows CarPC isn't enough of a challenge. :peep:
