I would test a build myself but I have not got any maps.

From the linked page:
The tarball is a linux 2.4.18 kernel with ARM patches and some TomTom patches to support the TomTomGO hardware. It does not contain the navigation software. See their page on their use of GPL-licensed software.
Another question is does it even support x86 platforms?

I don't think the NAV software is GPL. It's probably completely proprietary and not available for download anywhere.
