Yes. I love the way Myth is structured with a frontend and backend. I run a Myth box which doesnt have any interface but it just records my TV shows when I want and I can program it with a web interface and download my tv shows over FTP
ddn: I'm curious to know what you have contributed to the linux community.
it seems like this is the first time you've been introduced to a media front end from your first post in this thread.
and just so you know, myth tv is great......just not for a car (which it was not designed for)

not only that, but there is also a mythtv client for the Xbox. MythTV in general is probably one of the best media center apps I've seen and used, though I'm still partial to windows apps, cause that's what I know best. Linux is hard to learn when you've been stuck in the days of windows and simple programming in VB.![]()
I appreciate the updates on your software project, but this thread started out as a list of Linux frontends. No disrespect, but this thread crapping/jacking is a little annoying. Maybe move your project updates and info into another thread?Originally Posted by 65_2plus2
I'm not trying to step on any toes here, but it's getting difficult to sift through off topic posts to get to what's on the plate.
Please don't take this as a rip, just a suggestion

So... what frontends ARE people using? Does anyone else actually have their carpc installed? My only real holdup is getting a bloody frontend app to compile. It seems like my only option is Pycar, since Mythtv doesn't support a mouse and I'm going to be using a touch screen. Am I missing another option?
headunit....mine doesn't compile also..lol(cvs version) pycar doesn't compile to me...the only thing that sucks in linux is..NO GPS COOL APP![]()
