Girder for Linux? [Found my answer]

This seems like so a total n00b question. But, I swear I searched. I did "Advanced Search" for "girder" on the Linux Forum, for all time. Also searched for "LIRC" on the Linux forum. Both search returned no posts.

My overall goal is to hook up a ShuttleXpress or PowerMate and map various input events (maybe from /dev/input/event ?) to windows events like girder does.

So, is there a girder-type program for Linux? I know about LIRC, I don't need the IR decoding part of girder. I want the automation part. Girder makes it easy to "push" particular buttons in particular application windows regardless of which window has focus. It uses a great wildcarding, window-title matching system. I want to do something like that in Linux.

Before you say "hey, don't complain, write one yourself!", I just might. But I would rather use one that already exists and has been debugged a bit, if it exists.

If this has been covered before, yell "search" at me, and point me at the right terms or the thread.

    GizmoDaemon

    http://gizmod.sourceforge.net/
It grew out of the powermated project. It's not completely girder yet, (can't send events to windows that don't already have focus), but the author says that's the intent.

I believe the ShuttleXpress shows up as a /dev/input/eventX device, so GizmoDaemon should work with it as well.

Looks neat. I'll be trying this with my X10 LOLA remote. I never figured out how to get xmodmap to accept my key bindings for it.
