I found RoadNav to be very very slow (unusable) on an older system I had, but that system ran Roadmap just fine. I haven't looked into why; I know Roadmap I could compile using the exact libraries I wanted, and I'm not sure what RoadNav uses.

he knows that, it's just that many consider IG to be the nav choice for windows and he was saying will this be the nav choice for linux.Originally Posted by xBrady
Downloaded Roadnav and kept getting error messages when it attempted to download map files. The URL is correct anybody play with it? I like the look of the program, very clean and simple, some of us don't need all sorts of crazy POI databases and what not.
Looks interesting, I'm thinking of gentoo on a mac mini (duo) with mythbox (with my own custom skin) and roadster as a carpc.

Sounds like iGuidance 2.1 worked fairly well in Wine, but no experiences with 3.0 posted.
System status: in progress
I downloaded and installed RoadNav under Ubuntu to test on my laptop (Dell D800). It worked fine with Amarok playing and netstumbler running. I only tested it on a drive to work, but it seemed to do just fine. I didn't try searching or 3D views, etc, just tracking my drive. I will test further in the coming weeks.Originally Posted by silvercryst
Well I'll be getting it in the coming few weeks so I'll post my results then.Originally Posted by Change

Why are we still talking about RoadNav here? Roadster is where it's at!
