Monitor driver

Hi

I have this screen
screen

I'm using Slackware 10.1

I have tryed the egalax drivers
drivers

but all of them do not run with Slackware.

How can I use my touchscreen monitor with Slackware?

I don't know. What do you mean "all of them do not run with Slackware"? Do you mean it gives you an error? Does slackware simply not suport it? Have you tried gettting the drivers off of some sort of CVS? Did you remember to reconfigure your x11 conf?

Please explain a little further. I don't even know screen that is. All I see is touchscreen and bubble wrap and I lost interest.

the installation script of the egalax driver tell me I don't have gcc, tcl,... BUT I have them.

I have tried to run the script under redhat 8 and it works.

If you know another driver please tell me

are you sure all of your environment variables are set? try typing echo $CC and echo $MAKE at the bash prompt. Maybe it is a problem with automake/conf. Did you make sure you ran ./configure before make and make install ?

there aren't configure and make.

there is only a script to launch

strange. I'll look at the package when I'm back home. In the meantime, you can try googling for: Linux PartNumberOfScreenHere driver Or Linux PartNumberOfScreen Xorg.

I went through this ordeal recently with Gentoo. I tried to unpack the shell archive with the Fedora Core 4 version of the driver, and the script complained about not being able to find RPM packages for gcc and such installed.

Elsewhere egalax has a section called manuals, and have one for the Linux driver. It has instructions for how to do a manual install on an unsupported distro. It's not very hard. The shell archive leaves a file /tmp/touchkit.tgz that you manually unpack and build.

There is another driver, one that is maintained by an open source community person rather than egalax. The kernel part even made it into the main line core kernel. YMMV, I never figured out how to make it work.
