    Help in Linux

Have you ever asked for help from a Linux Forum or irc Channel?

Did you get the "RTFM" or check the documentation, even when you specified that the answer you were looking for wasn't in the help?

I found the perfect way to get help from Linux Snobs

Tell them that Linux Sucks because its can't do ______ that windows can do.
You will INSTANTLY get dozens of examples and instructions on how to do ______ in Linux and that Linux is better than Windows because [blah, blah, blah]

Example: Linux Sucks because I there's no way to stream my music over the network like shoutcast can for Windows
Response: WTF?!?!?! Are you SERIOUS!!!!! icecast <link to icecast> is 1000000 times better than shoutcast because you can [rant]. Just install it use this config.xml file and enjoy the glory that is icecast
Response2: That is just stupid, you can't get at your music from everywhere!! Use Jinzora or Ampache or MP3Toolbox and you can stream with the mpd daemon and access your music from anywhere with a web browser

Hope this helps any newbs who got snubbed when asking for help, I know its worked for me in the past

Well it is in the documentation, just which documentation is the question, and whether or not you can comprehend the documentation. :P

RTFM? Is this in a Red Hat/Fedora forum? They're the only ones with manuals, which is why I never got into Red Hat as the forums and newsgroups for it always assumed you bought the book, and jumped down your throat if you didn't have it.
