i dunno why ubuntu mobile didn't install. It's in the gutsy repos. Make sure all the errors go away and try it again....

    Hope this helps

The path to the install files is correct, I checked in both the /etc/apt/sources.list and Synaptic. I also don't think it was limited to ubuntu-mobile, other packages could not be found as well.
It did work in Ubuntu 7.10 however.

I think I'll try a fresh version of LinuxICE and see if that fixes it.

after you change the "feisty" to "gutsy" in sources.list, make sure you do a apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade.

That's basically all you have to do to upgrade to the gusty core.

I'm going to start a new thread on the upgrade process from LinuxICE to LinuxICE+Hildon. I'll post some docs there.

The apt-get update had some errors that looked like some of the packages could not be found. and the apt-get dist-upgrade did nothing with 0 upgrades which I'm assuming is because the packages could not be found.

I'm running this in a virtualbox on XP so I'll start with a new LinuxICE image and go from there.
by the way, is there a LinuxICE image that you would recommend starting with, ICE2 or ICE1?

Still unable to find some packages, this time I used LinuxICE Beta2-1 and got the same results.

Here's what I did step by step:
-Install LinuxICE Beta2-1 from Live CD
-Clicked on IceUpdate under System Tools
    (no problems here)
-Clicked on the Ice Config under Desktop Preferences
    (still all is well)
-Then I modified the sources.list so that all feisty were gusty from the terminal
(I also checked Synaptic and everything read gusty)
    -Then ran apt-get update
(This is where I get all the errors, same result with IceUpdate as expected)
and because not much was updated the apt-get dist-upgrade doesn't upgrade anything.

I only had half an hour over lunch to play with it so I couldn't try any other fixes.

I'm wondering if I should have skipped the IceUpdate and modified sources.list first then ran the update.

Turns out my keyboard is a bit dyslectic.
And the spell checker in terminal just doesn't cut it.

    gutsy not gusty

    works like a charm now!

eubey got a little crazy over the holiday (memorial) and decided to "revolution"-ize nghost2. This is the hildon-killer, fully integrated nghost2 with 2 icepanel docks (on top and bottom).
