If it makes you feel better I can't get ubuntu mid to run on my test machine anyways.
Of course Ice has been kicking my butt to with the bad mirrors. Hopefully, the link above will fix that as it looks like a great set up for the car.

So will this be based on Ubuntu or Debian Sid??
I too use linux in my car (and everywhere else) and really LIKE the idea of Linux Ice (particularly NGhost) since my current solution is.... less than elegant. lol
LinuxICE v1.0 will be based on Ubuntu (probably 7.04, the current base). LinuxICE 2 will possibly have a debian lenny/sid base (sid may be too unstable for LinuxICE, we'll see...) or a ubuntu base. I've been toying around with building livecd's based on debian and I like it so far.
LinuxICE 2 is still a ways out, so nothing is set in stone. Our focus will be on getting LinuxICE 1.0 to be the best it can be (in a reasonable amount of time)
cheers
I'll be hoping you can get things working in Debian, kev.
I have used quite a few distros and Ubuntu always gives me problems getting some of my more esoteric stuff working right, among other things. ;)
