sounds like your going to be a little busy, but i am happy that u decided to go to hardy![]()
Due to some technical difficulty, Beta3 will be postponed indefinitely. For unknown reasons, I am unable to build a working live cd with the current base of LinuxICE. it dies and sits in a busybox shell when I attempt to test it.
What I'm going to do is build from the ground up again using ubuntu 8.04 and call it LinuxICE 1.5 or 2...
For now, LinuxICE Beta2-1 is the latest. There will be still updates for it until I can get the new core up. nGhost2 is in the unstable repo along with icepanel and a bunch of other good stuff.

I finally got LinuxICE building again. I hope to roll out an updated ISO soon.
Beta3 should include some bug fixes, calibration on startup (only once), nGhost2 RCx (RC1 if RC2 or 2.0 isn't out by the time I can roll it), icepanel 1.0.0.X, upnp autodetection via djmount.
Also, more good news: LinuxICE2 has been successfully built (core only @99mb). Based on debian sid, LinuxICE2 should be smaller, faster, and support more hardware than ever before.
I'm just toying around with stuff at this point so nothing is for sure. We'll see how things look in the near future.

I've been trying to download the current linux ice software for a few days now and it seems the site is down. Anyone having any luck? Or know a site I might try?
I found a couple of mirror sites for it but the downloads form it come up with ton of error messages and the files won't pass self check. It looks like the whole Ice site is down forums and downloads.
We are in the process of transitioning to a new server. I was able to get the old forum back online.
We'll be back soon with a big announcement regarding the "new" site, LinuxICE Beta3, and nGhost2. Stay tuned....

If you can't wait for beta 3 give http://linuxice.spuzzdawg.net a go - should be able to download beta 1 & 2 there.

I appreciate the response guys. I'm looking at a long road trip at the end of august (2500 miles one way) and wanted to start playing with Ice. If I can pull together the needed components in time I'd like to do a laptop setup and since I like running ubuntu I'd like to stick with that over that god forsaken xp...
Tonight I'll be hitting your site spuzzdawg for the download. Thanks again
Thanks downloading it now.
Have any of you played around with that new ubuntu mid yet?
I have not tried ubuntu mid yet. We use a lot of the same things in LinuxICE. There are a lot of good ideas that ubuntu is doing that I'd like to take and use in LinuxICE in subsequent versions.
