BTW: why choose xfce? I think E17 would be a quicker loading && more feature complete alternative...

I rolled out a build that includes pulseaudio among other fixes. I'm can't test yet because my PC doesn't have speakers right now. I basically used your guide. What doesn't work on your system?Quote:

that howto may not work with 2.0+. I'd use ubuntu's usb startup disk creator. I know for sure that method works.

Don't know -- I've been tweeking everything to get s/pidf working, I have never checked. At this point spdif is setup for default and I have commented out all other options, so I can't readly answer that....

BTW: I have box in the house right now, updating to a *fulll* ubuntu so I can have the appropriate tools to troubleshoot with (mostly the pa control and volume apps -- needed to install firefox anyways)

The above link applies to ubuntu 8.10. LinuxICE is based on 9.04. I wonder if there are some differences that the above link doesn't cover....Quote:
