Does NGhost require ICEPANEL to run ?

Can anyone advise wether ICEPANEL is actually needed to get an output on NGhost, I have compiled NGhost and Libnghost sucessfully, Icepanel I cant get compiled.

I have read through the posts on this forum but cannot quite wrk out whether Icepanel is a nice to have or a mandatory component.

    All advice welcome :-)

icepanel is not mandatory. It's useful when you are using apps other than nGhost (ie, navigation) and still want to pause/play music, etc.

check out how it can be used:

    What errors do you get?

    Thanks for the quick response.

When NGhost is run I see a failure to connect to ICEPANEL and the X session shows a flat black screen.

Im going to take a guess that this may have something to do with the options chosen whilst installing SDL ?

Yes, there is something wrong. Make sure sdl has png support built in.

    PNG enabled in SDL

OK ran nscan -l4 then nghost and piped the results to a file.
Nghost came up as a black screen. Any ideas ?

Can you paste the nghost log please? the nscan log posted looks okay to me.

    nghost -d4 -lstdout &> file.log should work
