did you run update-initramfs -k all -u after you installed it?
cheers.
I tried installing the usplash Kev000 made for linixice, but the image was too small to see(at least on my machine). So I have been trying to make a new one!
It includes a thin line progress bar like ubuntu 9.04 except it is blue(can't show it in action cause I haven't gotten it to install yet). Can't figure out why its not working(still a newbee)????
Any help will be appreciated...Thanks in advance!!!!
Here is a Screenshot of the image and a copy of the file I made...

Oh, also, if you've tried to install the linuxice package, you'll have to run update-alternatives and point to the new file. the package does this for you. This may help you do it locally:

I tinkered with the "c" file...and now I'm in business. I have successfully rewritten my 1st c file...yayyy!!! Only thing is the progress bar is light gray(but I can live with that cause it still matches the theme...better leave it alone before I break something). Got my machine happily Tri booting LinuxICE2, Microsoft Windows XP Professional, and Microsoft Windows Vista Business. Even got a nice pic as my grub splash image working! I now officially have graduated to "novice" status! Beginning to get past that learning curve. Thanks for your help so far Kev000!!!!
Great! It'd be cool if you could share it with others as well. If you want to tar.gz it up, I can make a package for it and throw it in the repo.
How did you do the grub splash? I've always wanted to change the grub splash but haven't looked at it yet. You're more than a novice if you've done that.

I got a little more tinkering with file to finish, then I will tar it up and post it here to share, complete with the "so" so all you will have to do to install is use the start-up manager. Will also make a matching grub screen image to go with it(to also install using the start-up manager). You have to make a "sankz.xpm" image for use as the grub image(no more than 16 colors). I have a Chrysler300m, so I,m using this image for my grub splash right now...
Alright Kev000...Here is the updated file for you to test...Have'nt made the grub splash yet, but when I do I will repost the file with it included...Thinking of resizing and using your image for that..If I can find one!!!!....
excellent! The last image you posted looks a little stretched. I like the first one better...

I had to stretch it because part of the bottom of it kept getting cut off when I installed it...It looks good though...Believe me!!!!
I will add the original images when I add the Grubsplash to the theme(will put them in a folder called "Original Images" inside the package). Maybe you can get them to work!!!
Here is a sneak preview of the Grubsplash image I plan to add to the theme package!!!
As you can see 14 colors can only go so far!!!
