I recently installed LinuxICE from the DVD. Ran setup and the directories inside ~/ were made. I was having problems with my videos not showing up, so I meddled around in my conf file. I noticed that the conf file pointed to a "Video" directory, but what really existed was "~/Videos". I changed it in my conf file and rebooted. I had to reboot a few times (not sure why), but they eventually showed up.
I just wanted to post this in case someone else doesn't catch this right away.
I'll double check the default conf to make sure it points to "Videos" instead of "Video". Thanks for the heads up!Quote:

I have 2 avi files in there (avi is allowed by conf). I add a third, and it doesn't show until maybe the 3rd or 4th reboot.
There is a known race condition that seems to pop up randomly. For some unknown reason, nscan drops the video database after it creates it. It will be addressed in the new nscan which hopefully will get finished when things settle down at my other job ;) .Quote:

i have no idea why they wouldn't play. When i get a minute I'll have a look at it. If you can help, open up a terminal, kill/quit nghost, then start nghost again from the terminal with a "nghost -d4" command. This will tell it to log all the debug data. If you can copy/paste the log here, i may be able to figure out what's wrong sooner than finding the time to do the debugging.
