Although ICETouch runs and seems to install the drivers just fine, when I reboot and run ICETouch again to calibrate the screen it doesn't recognize the VM70. The familiar eGalaxTouch program starts up but all the options are greyed out and the USB Touch Controller Icon has a big red X over it. VM70 is working fine in Windows so isn't a hardware problem. Any ideas?
is it a egalax based controller (type in lsusb in a terminal)? Alternatively, you can uninstall the egalax driver and install the evtouch driver and run ev_calibrate (i think?). to calibrate. I'm fed up with the egalax driver and am about to try evtouch again... hopefully it's improved since the last time i tried it.Quote:

lsusb identifies the Egalax touchscreen device but only every other time I run it.
I got to the calibration screen finally by changing the "Device" option from "usbauto" to a specific event number.
But there's still no touch capability
The skipclick option is not present
I'm no whiz at this and this just about exhausts my bag o tricks. Could it be I just haven't picked the right event number? Should the Egalax device be showing up in lsusb every time?
Yes it should be showing up in lsusb every time. And the device event number will change on every reboot. Odd that usbauto couldn't find it. That may be some of what I'm experiencing :(. my frustration against the egalax driver grows...Quote:
