Tripzero, I guess I can go back to matchbox until v3 is out.... That still is coming, right?

BTW: going back to matchbox let me see all of the the volume applet dialog box, which allowed me to fix my sound issue.

I've stopped development on v3 stuff. That said, I'm not idle and have a number of goodies in various stages of development for the future.

Continuing my efforts to get the *perfect* setup...

How do I integrate LIRC with NGhost? I use SWIX and LIRC to get steering wheel inputs into my system. Do I have LIRC send commands to mplayer? Or do I send them to pulseaudio? Suggestions....

BTW: Thanks for all the help

I have also been wondering this but am still fabricating my media controls. Except I have my multimedia controls soldered to a keyboard controller to emulate some keyboard strokes. I don't think nghost can be controlled though the keyboard which is my issue.

lirc can send commands to mplayer, that should work. redparchel was working on something to control nghost with the keyboard. Not sure exactly what he was doing or his progress though...

If I had steering wheel controls, I would write a plugin for nghost that listened for them (from lirc or the serial port or nobdy (from CAN)) and have the plugin control the player...

    Ok,

I'll bite -- where is the latest info on plugin development? I came across these two sites:

    http://wiki.openice.org/index.php?title=Nghost_ipc
    http://forums.openice.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=450

    Anything more "up to date"?

Here's the plugin api itself: http://wiki.openice.org/index.php?ti...ost_plugin_api

The IPC documentation is fairly recent. Those are the commands that you throw on the queue from your plugin created from the link above.

Is there any reason why nghost would eat up close to 1Gig of memory? Because that's what seems to be happening on my box... I was rolling in my car, things were acting a little off -- but I still had tunes. Turned off car and got some grub -- then this. Please see here: http://pastebin.com/scT7Y3fz

I'd love some ideas on what could cause this...
