I shall run that command in a minute, just bare with me, I have to keep running out side to my car

Here is my xorg.conf file, it means nothing to me though, so if I need to edit and replace, just let me know.

A quick Google brought this as my video card:
    Intel® 82945G Express Chipset

I already have the log, but it is really big, as in lots and lots of text, I don't think it wise to try and post it on here.

    Code:
    # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
    # values from the debconf database.
    #
    # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
    # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
    #
    # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
    # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
    # package.
    #
    # Note that some configuration settings that could be done previously
    # in this file, now are automatically configured by the server and settings
    # here are ignored.
    #
    # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
    # again, run the following command:
    # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

yeah try using my xorg.conf file and see if it gets you anywhere. as for touch screen, mine never worked after 9.10, so im sure there will have to be a different way to install it. I would have upgraded to 10.04 at the time but my touchscreen never worked.

Snowman, you are being a super star helping me out here, but this is driving my crazy.

    Same error I'm afraid:
Screen found :::: No usable configuration file found.
    No screen found . . .

It then continues to loop, until I force a reboot.

With the USB stick unplugged and the xorg.conf file removed, yes, it still boots into Ubuntu.

With the USB stick plugged in and the xorg.conf removed, I get errors, I receive the same errors with the file in place.

Something tells me I can't be alone with this problem and I'm surprised a fix has not been made yet.

What if I manually updated the video driver from the intel web site, then recreated my xorg.conf file using Xorg -configure ??

what is on the usb stick? how are you trying to install linuxice, with the stick or synaptic? if you have ubuntu installed, you can then install nghost on top of that. nghost is the frontend that you see, it is only an application that runs on top of the desktop. there is a page on openice's wiki about how to install nghost onto a system.
