Yes, the same errors.
I have not been past the bios screen.
I have since tested the meego bootable stick on my wifes Windows laptop and it boots fine. Will pop out to the car soon and test there.

Meego is now installed. . . .why oh why could LinuxIce not install as easily.
At first glance, Meego does not really look touch screen friendly. . . . Hopefully more testing will prove otherwise.
Now I have to figure out how to install my touchscreen driver.
i am going to try out meego as well. I tried it out months ago and it seemed to have been missing all kinds of things. I like the bluetooth/voice synth/recognition stuff so hopefully this time around it will be better. I don't think I got my touchscreen drivers installed on it either. Hopefully it will be easier this time around also.
Well i was trying to install meego yesterday but my carPC caught fire. After testing the pico PSU i believe that is the culprit. Meego did recognize my touchscreen, i think it just needed to be calibrated (every touch moved the cursor to 0,0). I guess after i get some replacement parts (hopefully warrantied) I will try meego again. pod25, i hope yours doesn't go like mine did!
Sorry to hear about the fire, I hope you get it sorted soon.
You said Meego recognised your touchscreen ?
Has Meego got a built in utility for touchscreens ? because I could not find one.
I still can't get my touch to work, I posted in the Meego forum section for help.
you could try to install the egalax touchscreen drivers. I'm not sure what drivers actually comes with the meego distro but i imagine the forum will help you out. It did recognize my touchscreen though, i have a 7 inch lilliput one.
The egalax driver is the same as the TouchKit and I get the same result with the egalax driver.
After using google, it seems I'm not alone with this problem.
I have checked and double checked everything to make sure files are where they are supposed to be.
Is there any chance you could post the contents of your /var/lib/TouchKit.param file please.
I don't have it, even though it is listed in my xorg file created by both TouchKit and egalax.
I have posted in the Meego section, but no one is replying.
Bringing this thread back to life.
I have now installed Ubuntu 9.04 as suggested.
Then tried to install LinuxIce. . . .. And yes, I still get the same damn error :
Monitor found, but no usable configuration file was found
Even though with 9.04 there is a xorg.conf file.
I am rapidly losing faith with Linux.
have you tried to install from the linuxice iso? I am perplexed about this, but i am sure that there is something small that is causing the problem. did you get gnome or something running in ubuntu 9.04?
Yes, I used the LinuxIce ISO using the bootable USB stick.
And yes, 9.04 ran perfect and without any problems.
But yet, LinuxIce still would not install.
I have now put Ubuntu 10.10 back in, though I am seriously thinking about going back to Windows and giving up on Linux.
At least everything worked using Windows.
