I'm awaiting your next release. Any sort of timeframe as to when it may be done? Love the new look of the frontend.

i think i've traced this back to how ever nghost calls mplayer .. if i use JUST mplayer to play the music the songs are normal, but if i use nghost to play the music the songs are all distorted, if any one has any suggestions that would be really great! i'm trying to get my box into my car by saturday as i have a trip to take this weekend and it would be nice to have nghost along for the ride
-thanks!
by my mistake, the default equalizer settings are really bad (i tested them out on my laptop). The bass levels are too high and cause distortion. You'll probably want to edit your nghost options.conf and play with the equalizer settings (or just comment them out).
The upcoming version has straight zeros for the eq settings. Also, I usually enable cache in mplayer's mplayer.conf file for increased performance -especially when playing music cd's or dvd's.

Wow. Your new interface looks really nice, kudos!
I didn't like much the one you can find on most screenshots. I'll have to test this one soon![]()
ok, so i used nghost during my drive to and from PA from CT, and it works like a charm! ... i was currious on a few things tho, such as, will there be a now playing area, maybe visulations, in future releases when nghost moves to the next track will it high light that track when viewing the library (and scroll down if nessasary) .. also we watched top gun in mplayer, will mplayer be embeded into nghost like other frontends? i ask this because the maximize button is hard to press on the mplayer window, and i was hoping that it could be put into a nghost as the nice nghost style. OR can you pass a maximize button to mplayer from nghost? just thinking outloud
and WAY down the road is there support for a external character lcds (i'm not sure if there is an mplayer plug in for lcdproc) ... also what are the thoughts for ipod integration, i see what i think are the starts of it but i was currious where it was going (can i plug in my ipod via the usb cable then play the songs off it it through nghost?)
so these are some thoughts from a user that so far LOVES your software and truely wishes he could help more but cant do much in terms of programing so thought he'd share these idea's
AGAIN GREAT software!!!! (and i'll try to get over to YOUR forums and register over there soon)
Great suggestions! Many of them are planned for later releases.
Currently you can play songs off your ipod by changing the "removable=" to the mount point of your ipod (ie "removable=/media/MyIpod").
[Idea:]A small patch could look for a common ipod file and automatically scan that mount point...
Anyway, glad you like it. I'm just about set to release the 0.95 version.
here's another screen shot of another skin

i'm not familiar with the code base of the apps i'm going to mention here, but it could be a neat result.
if you've ever used compiz/beryl then you've seen some nice eye candy. i'm guessing it wouldn't be that hard to have hooks into it to apply some of those effects to nghost, its probably been over a month since i used the last version of nghost, so i'm not sure how it behaves with them by default.
also has anyone tried anything similar yet.
We talked about this topic in this thread. I'm pretty excited to mess around with the awesome eye candy effects. Great suggestion!
