Is your motherboard set to power on after power loss?
I have been working on my friends truckputer for some time, and we are having issues on the power supply turning on when the 12v switched is hooked up. We even took the computer out and plugged it in directly to the battery and when the 12v switched is hooked up to the 12+ the computer wont turn on. but once we have the 12v switched hanging in free air and then put the + and - on the battery it powers up fine. What could be causing this issue, since day 1 we have had this problem?

Reboot the computer.
When the POST screen (or manufacturer splash screen) appears, repeatedly press DEL or F2. (I think the Intel Atom boards use F2 as the BIOS trigger).
Hunt around in the BIOS for the option. I believe it will be under Power Management settings.
thats the other issue, we dont get the bios screen ever. The green light is on on the mb and the fan is on but never get to the bios screen. What could be causing that?
I think you meanthe POST screen, not the BIOS screen.
POST is what shows the memory check and system information or perhaps a manufacturer's logo or splash screen.
The BIOS screen is a series of menus that allows you to change certain settings related to the PC hardware. The BIOS setup is accessed from the POST
The only time you wouldn't see a POST screen is if ou are resuming from standby mode.
Ya well we have not been getting a post screen then haha. We have had power supplies issues but we might of found a solution around that. The light on the motherboard is green and the fan is on on the mb but the screen says no signal.
Sounds like the motherboard is trying to display it, but perhaps the screen can't display the low-res text screen.
You might try hooking the PC up to another monitor (assuming you have one available) to configure the BIOS.
This is yet another reason that we all recommend configuring your PC BEFORE installing it in your ride.
We just had the screen on the wrong channel! I have a new problem so I'll jut create a new thread!
on a different note....BTHO TU!!!!
