Ummm...to spare me reading 13 pages of this forum, how do we get your code, and how do we flash the M2?
    TIA

I am really sorry guys. I know there are several of you that I have not had a chance to respond to. I am in the process of a long distance move, so I have not had spare time for working on this. I will get back to everyone when I get a chance and get back to programming chips for people.

how was/is the move? are you looking to get back into chip programming soon?

New user, first post, almost ready to begin my own car PC build...

I do hardware/firmware/MCU stuff myself and had a thought on this custom firmware. It seems a lot of people want a lot of different options for timings. bluTDI09, bless his soul, seems to be very accommodating and willing to program custom timings. But I know from experience that's a pain.

It's been suggested that the firmware could be changed to allow a switch to be connected to the jumper pins to allow for end-user programability, but I have another suggestion. The M2-ATX already has a switch input, doesn't it? The one for a real switch that the firmware passes through to the MB? Why can't that be used for input? The firmware could be altered to detect if this switch is being pressed and held when it first powers up (not from the ACC line, but the constant 12V). If that's detected, go into "programming mode" where the code reads switch presses and provides feedback with the LED. Once programming is done, bounce the 12V line to restart the unit and you're good-to-go.

As for programming with a single input, it can be tricky, but lots of consumer devices do it. You really need a well thought out (and documented) "menu system". There are lots of options for this.

Just wanted to throw that idea into the mix.

I apologize to all those people who sent me PM's over the past year and change and didn't hear back. I am not sure why, but I was not receiving emails when I got PM's until recently and I am pretty much never on the forum anymore. However, I have replied to most of the PM's and am still willing to program chips for people that want them. I could really use a little extra paypal these days...

Wow. It really HAS been a long time. Welcome back.

I was wondering if anyone has tried this in a M2 clone? Just curious. I am capable of burning controllers and would try it out.
