i assume that the 4 ga is for some amps in the trunk?

did you sand off the paint in the area that you attached the ground wire to?

if you have enough wire, maybe try grounding the pc to the same location as the amps-- it might be a faulty ground point.

and just to make sure that i understand the relay correctly-- you have a switched lead from the front of the car, going to the coil input on the relay, which is then grounded.
you have a constant 12v power wire going to one switched lead on the relay, and the hd radio, and the m2's acc/ign lines are connected to the other side of the switch.

    is that about right?

You might want to follow this thread too. Sounds the same but slower.

Your issue is happening too fast to see on a DMM. I think only a scope would show anything. Maybe a PSU tester would show something, maybe not. Is there any way to send it back for repair?

my friend has a scope. he said he needs to know what wires to scope. I emailed mini box and they said they had no idea what could be causing the problem and offered the latest firmware. hes standing next to me now and says he needs to know what wires and what is he looking for.

im going to take a look at the other thread when i get home. im at work right now

I just looked up "atx 20 pin pinout" and found quite a few. Here's one: http://www.powerstream.com/itx-atx-pinout.htm

Start with the +12V then 5V and 3.3V, and maybe PWR_OK. Something has to change right when the PC hard resets and it should look like a hard drop on the scope at maybe 100Hz or above.

Was there ever a fix for this? I am having the same issue with my M2-ATX.

Turn Key>Start Delay>Computer Boots Like It Should
Turn Off>Hard Computer Off>Starts to Boot Computer From Scratch>Gets Hard Off by 30sec delay

What was the fix for this?

ive been busy moving my stuff back to chicago so i havent had a chance to get back to checking everything. its pretty much down to the m2 losing ignition ever so briefly or a malfunction in the unit. im leaning towards the first but we shall see. hopefully once the actual problem is discovered there will be a fix. if i do find out something i most definitely will post here so stay tuned. ill probably be able to do some more work on it sunday so check back then.

I think you should take the offer for new firmware. At least that will eliminete one possibility, and it's a big one.

    Need Help Bad!

    Hello Everyone,

Ok I had my M2 power supply for almost three years, and just last week it stopped. I looked into it to see what was wrong, and turned out the power supply is fine, all that was broken was the switch that turns the motherboard on. I used a paper clip to manually turn on the mb while it was still hooked up in the car. It worked!

Ok so I take and order another M2 power supply from Mp3Car, and wait almost a week. Now i have the new on installed, now the new one turns on the mb every time, and works great until i shut it down. I am running centerfuse and when i exit the car, I'll click shut down on centerfuse and it will shut the computer off, but now instead of it turning off, it is rebooting. sometimes it takes like 3 or 4 times for the damn things to shut off.

What is going on with this? I never had this problem at all with my old M2 and I had that thing for about 3 years running strong!

Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? I went and check all the volts, and connections, everything is fine, I set my jumpers as I had the on the old one. Is the M2 just a crappy power supply and would spending 150 on one be a better move.

I just want it to work as it is meant to work.

Any help and or advice would awesome!

    Thanks guys

    Phil

I installed a diode on the IGN lead to my M2-ATX and that solved my problem.

I was using the same lead from my fuse box to remote turn on my two amps and my M2-ATX for my pc. Installed diodes on all three lines so they wouldnt feed back into eachother, and now it all works the way it should.
