My M2 ATX worked flawlessly when i first got it and powered everything up, however, i removed my car-pc for a short while, while i worked on changing the plugs and wires in my car.... i went to put it back into the car, hooked it all back up the way it was before and it powered on perfectly... however, i shut down the computer to fit everything behind the dash and i just barely bump the PSU and it started to mess up a bit... at first it would power the mobo for a sec and i would see the fan turn on and spin, but then imediately turn off... tried switching the polarity of the switch wire, and nothing... switched it back and nothing.... now im not getting ANY power to any of the lines on the mtx cable... any suggestions on what might have happend? thanks

    Hey OneFast

That sounds almost identical to what happened to me. Are you using a P4 by any chance? Check this thread. While you're at it, make sure all the components are still attached.

Got my replacement M2 yesterday. I set the auto shutdown on 5 seconds-2 hours and put it in. Hooked up power and it powered the board right up and I was happy....then I shut it down (simulated ignition off) and then started it again but this time there was NO POST... just like the M1...

This morning I tried again, it powered right-up...shut down and start again and did not post...

Maybe it works when capacitors lose all of their charge after a hard off and sitting a while?

I hope Andrei comes through on this and finds a definite solution...

Is the problem you are all describing only occuring when you plug into your car power or does this happen with a test supply as well? I have the sp13000 and the m2-atx and so far mine is working fine. I have not actually used it in the car yet; rather, I have a bench PSU outputting 12 volts (don't worry it can handle plenty of amps) through which I have the m2-atx connected (and then the sp13000 connected to the m2-atx). I simulate 12 volt ignition with a switch connected to the same 12 output from my bench psu. When I put this in the car am I going to experience this same problem?

Also, is there a fix for this? Above, andrewb said that changing Resister R4 to an 80-120K rather than the current 47K would fix it. v8 scimitar got his board shipped off to fix this, but the replacement didn't work, right? v8 scimitar, is this the fix that was implimented? And it did not work, right?

Because I'm thinking one way to fix this would be to wire a 50K resistor in series with the 47K that is there (I haven't even looked at my m2-atx yet to see if it has the 47k or the updated resistor, or if wiring anything in series anywhere woudl be possible) - just an idea.

Anyway, mine works as of now, with it connected to my bench PSU. I'm wondering if I should be worried... Any ideas woudl be appreciated.

yes thats the fix and no it didnt work for me. Its a surface mounted resistor and is a little bigger than the end of a ballpoint with atx connector one side P4 connector other and a chip on the other so puting a resistor in series might be possible but difficult. Mine wouldnt work either on a bench supply or car. I would think if it works it works and dont worry about it.

Just got my M2-ATX & SP1300 yesterday. tested it today. First it didn't boot, and the SP kept beeping with just the fan running. I was soooo upset. Then i tried switching the ATX cable and ooh my good. cell21633, it works. sama it's not the dirty cable theory

    ahlan rami

that's really crazy, I didn't try that when I had mine, before it got broke and went back anyway. I'll try that when it gets back. I'm very interested to know if the cable really is a straight thru cable. Do u have a multimeter that you can check that with? if u have the time and energy that is!
