Thread: M4-ATX gets stuck in a power on/ power off cycle

The fix you listed doesn't appear to resolve this issue in this thread however it does address one of my other threads

I only found one instance in all 27 pages that referenced a cycle such as mine (comes on then goes off 5/10 seconds later...repeats) and there didn't seem to be a solid fix.

My solution to this problem was ditch the M4ATX. I replaced it with my older less powerful opus 150. I was surprised that it could power this board. Anyways it is flawless!

hey guys i just looked at this thread too i emailed support yesterday and waiting for a response back. i'm having the same issue where it gives a continuous "pulse" to the shutdown/power switch . if u turn on the psu and disconnect the startup wire from pins 6/7 it will stay on but it just stays pulsed. it doesnt let it go i was really frustrated when it kept happening i thought the psu was bad .....again. til then im just either going to use a PAC TR-7 or just use a momentary switch til i find out a fix

gah, figures i'm not the only one with this issue. I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure out what is wrong with this POS power supply. I guess i'm just going to go back to opus.

I am having the same issues currently. It will run perfect for 2-3 days, then suddenly the machine will shut down mid windows, then go into a power on / off loop until I remove the power manually at the fuse. I've checked all of my connections, and the machine itself runs flawless besides the power supply issues I am currently having.

Another power supply issue I am having is that the USB device for the power supply that reads the voltage / temps fails to recognize as a USB device 2/3 of the boot ups. If I manually remove the device out of the device manager and reboot then the device comes up fine.

Specs on my build:

Intel ITX 1155 motherboard (can't remember the model ATM)
Intel i5 3570 @ 3.4 Ghz Quad core 77 watts
16GB DDR3 Kingston 1600 Mhz
Intel 520 120GB SSD

Lilliput 10" multitouch hdmi touch screen

All of the components have passed a full burn in test, and are rock solid on any other power supply that I've tested it on.

The USB driver issue also was present when I used a direct 12v power supply attached to the M4-ATX so I know its not the vehicle that is causing the issue with the driver. On the other side, I've monitored my voltages on the car and they fluctuate between 13.6v and 14.2v but there has been no pattern to voltage level with the power reset issue.

Emailed MiniBox (the manufacturer of the M4-ATX) over a month ago and still no reply.

My advice, avoid this power supply and the manufacturer at all costs! If its something that can't screw up like a case, sure use them, but power supplies or any electronics go somewhere else!

I'm having a similar issue.

Out of the box the PSU runs fine.

However, I need a longer delay before the PSU starts, so using the software I set it to 15s.

Upon rebooting the power supply will double pulse the power switch connection to the motherboard, meaning the mobo swicthes on briefly before switching off again! (The fan will spin momentarity)

If I reset the M4-ATX via JP1 it all works again.

Is there some sort of compatability issue with certain motherboards? A BIOS power setting, perhaps? Anyone any ideas?
