Glad to hear you diagnosed the problem. However, you still have to figure out how to keep from burning the logic board again!

Thank goodness for this site and threads like these.

I'm new to the site and carputing in general so information like this is valuable to me since I am doing almost an identical setup. Thank you for the clarification.

From what I've read there's more than one method. I used the Y-splitter option which requires you to open the case.

What I would like to know is why my 2140 with the latest firmare update always powers off my mac instead of keeping it into sleep. It will put the mac in sleep and about 5 minutes after the whole thing will lose power and then I have to restart the computer again so I ended up doing the safe sleep hack but I'm getting tired of waiting for even that to boot up when I turn the car on. I triple checked all the jumper setting and still cannot figure anything out other than its a firmware problem.

When you say you checked all the jumpers are you including the soft jumpers that can only be accessed by using the PSUmoni software?

I've never had a lot of luck with sleep mode with the Carnetix. Sometimes it would work for a while, sometimes it wouldn't. Safe Sleep is a lot quicker than windows hibernate unless you're using parallels or vmware.

OK I thought it was just me and yes I am talking about checking all jumpers...even the soft jumpers in the software. I think if we all write Carnetix then they may fix it.

They haven't updated the firmware in over a year now. And the support forum is filled with WOW spam.
