is it just because your front end is not 800x600 that you want to have 800x480? or is 800x600 the improper aspect ratio for your monitor?
i know there is a thread that help with this but i read and reread it and it doesnt help me at all so i decide to start a new thread. i noticed that most of the lcd that 800x480 has worked on are the 629 and eb701. but i have the older version 619GL-70NP and when i apply the settings from displayconfigx it doesnt work. it just show a flickering line of light on top of the screen. i have a 1.83 mac mini 10.5x. i was wondering if someone have the same issue but gottenn it resolve because its driving me nuts not to have 800x480. i have played around it too and no luck.

my front end is 800x480. cant get the aspect ratio to be 800x480.
maybe you misunderstood my question. I was asking what size your screen is. You will want to keep your screen 800x600 if that is its native aspect ratio; otherwise everything will get stretched out or distorted. The best solution for you would be to talk to all the front end developers and ask them nicely to extend support to 800x600. I myself have received a number of requests for this (I believe you were one of them) and am at this very moment working on a solution. Neon Boom Box will support 800x600 resolution in release 6 due in a week or 2.

According to specs online, that screen is "1,152,000 pixels(2400X480 dots)"
Try using 2400 X 480 in displayconfigX.

I have the same monitor (though I just leave it in 800x600). 800x480 is indeed it's native resolution.
It sounds like the refresh rate isn't set correctly based on the description in the OP.

i dont know what is my native reso. is but im guessing its 800x600 since i cant get anything other than 4:3 aspect. i know 800x480 will distort it a little but i doubt it will be enough to notice. i will be using frontend most the time so i wouldnt be able to see the desktop so the distortion will be unnoticeable. im currently using amp because of its simplicity but i get like a 2 inch black bar untop of amp. which is unappealing. i have a version of neonboombox too but it seem like it still have some bug. but after you get it to accept 800x600 i will def. switch over. but any help on getting it to display 800x480 would be great
