if you have a jail-broken iphone you can do this for free. Tested and it does work.

I really can't believe Apple approved it in the first place. What were they thinking offering NetShare? It's on, it's off, it's on again, it's off again. Can't they make up their minds? I'm glad I bought it while it was still available. I must have been one of the last to buy it. I'll be sad when iPhone v2.0.1 disables it or they work some iTunes magic to remove it from my iPhone without my permission. Wouldn't THAT create a public uproar?
I messed around with it a little earlier today, but I couldn't get it to work.
Offer AT&T a monthly $30 bribe and they may let you tether.
I just checked UK & Japan iTunes Stores … can't find it.
Thanks for the link! This was just a nice app for those trying to "play by the rules" … Apple & AT&T's rules!![]()
both methods of tethering are exactly the same. route network traffic through a proxy server. If one violates the ATT terms of service they both do. As for jail breaking I don't see anything morally wrong with it, and as far as I know it is perfectly legal. Thanks for the link! I'd agree. I don't see how one would and the other wouldn't … unless for some crazy reason, it's OK because, in a sense, one has Apple's blessing, the other doesn't … but even Apple doesn't appear to know what they're doing.
YOU see nothing wrong with jailbreaking. I see nothing wrong with jailbreaking. Apple & AT&T probably disagree. My thoughts? I bought … I can throw it off a bridge if I want to . It's MINE! When they start GIVING iPhones away, they can start telling me what I can do with it. However, none of this prevents them from "accidentally" bricking the iPhone on the next update.
