Actually i use this widget to put it into "safe sleep".

    Deep Sleep http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashb...deepsleep.html

Why shouldn't it be used with Parallels? I haven't had any problems with Parallels.

I was having issues with USB devices in Parallels when coming back from safe/deep sleep. VMWare Fusion handled it better. My big gripe was that it took somewhere between 20 to 30 seconds to come back from safe/deep sleep when I had an active virtual machine running rather than the 5 seconds or so it takes normally.

Nope, no crashing. Just a lack of a "perfect" solution. Which reminds me, VMWare Fusion wouldn't stay in full-screen mode coming back from Safe/Deep sleep. Of course this was a year ago, a newer version may solve that problem.
