Not as easy as a Mac Mini, which can be powered with a Carnetix 2140 or P1900. The ATV needs an inverter to power it, meaning you will have to manually start it up each time.

This is probably possible, but you will have to hack the ATV. There are many ways to hack it, I'm sure.

cheers pal i will think about installing a mini then but if i install a mini how do i keep the battery from running flat as it will be in sleep mode and i do not want to install a second battery

The Carnetix 2140 shuts the Mini down when the battery runs low. Or you can set the Mini to shutdown each time.
