    Mini question

I am in the first stages of planning a carputer installation for my 2005 Pontiac GTO.

I have a spare Intel Mac mini sitting around and I was planning on using it for this project. I understand how to power the mini using the available power supplies and the Mac Pac kit for the power button. However, I have a couple of questions. I have done some searches, but I can't find the answers.

How would you hook up a HQCT to a Mac mini? I saw a diagram of pinouts so I know what the various connectors are for. Can the line out of the HQCT (which is supposed to be hooked to a CD ROM line in port on a motherboard) be hooked to the mini's line-in jack using an adapter? And will doing this allow the mini to play the audio under Centrafuse running on XP?

Also, will the mini's built-in bluetooth work for pairing with my iPhone or do I need an external USB bluetooth adapter?

As far as the wiring in the HQCT into a mac mini i don't have an answer. from just a quick glance at the unit, it looks like you could take the audio out, wire it into a headphone jack and then plug it in to a unit like a griffin imic, to get the sound into the mini. There may very well be a better way than that, and i may be missing the point completely, I have never looked at the HQCT Module before.

You can use a program called bluephoneelite2 to handle bluetooth phone calls through the mini. The app is $20 i think but there is a trial. Do the trial first as i had several problems with getting it to work properly in the car. It worked fine on my laptop outside of the car, but for some reason would crash every time in the car upon making/receiving a phone call. It has been awhile since i have used it so it could be better now.

    good luck with the install!
