This looks good, sad I dont have the Optical port on my Mini.....
man I was looking for an optical input device for ages and gave up and bought a new MB instead due to my sound limitations of the KINO MB i was using.
If I had the coin I'd consider this, but a little too rich for something that my just sit on the shelf

Dont ALL minis have the optical out? Its actually "hidden" inside the 1/8" audio jack. you just need that 1/8" optical adapter.
I am still very intrigued by this, as I didn't know until just now that there is a 1/8" optical adapter that I can use.
Investigating now...

I believe my old G5, first apple with optical out built in i believe, came with these adapters.
they are really just a small plastic molding with what i believe is a plastic lens to focus the beam.
around $5
