To use FCP well you also need AE and DVDSP, otherwise you only using your macs potential a liddle bit. Bah, if you dont have a G5 u arent a good editor at all anyway.

im adept in FCP (including the three programs its bundled with that i never need), DVDSP, currently learning motion. (unrelated note: i also know programs like photoshop, illustrator, premiere, pro tools, sound forge, and acid very well)

my high school is Communications High School...ive been taking classes on FCP and everything about it since i walked in. so when i say im the best i know, im saying i am the best in my school. I'm sorry you took so much offense to my statement...if you like, ill call you the best FCP editor ive ever met...really, i will.



btw... up until a week ago my setup was a G5 dual 2.5ghz, 2GB ram, two Lacie firewire 800s at 200gb each.... and a big ol' apple cinema display screen

Lol. *drools over your setup*. That's what I want but I'll have to wait 'till I'm older and stick with my crappy 2700XP+ Athalon with Dual 20" Dell FP's.

Got any links to some of the work you've done? I'm curious. I'm an avid Pro Tools user (have a DIGI 002R) in my recording studio at home. I'd like to see some work you've done.

Where is your high school? Its so hard to get funding for FCP or digital arts in FLORIDA.

Monmouth County Vocational School District (NJ) sponsors four full-time high-schools that teach basic HS classes such as math, english, and science. Each school also adds specialized classes to a certain area or profession. These High Schools are: The Marine Academy of Science and Technology, Allied Health High School, High Technology High School, and my own Communications High School. I'm very lucky to have this opportunity.

i don't understand why you are so condescending towards me. granted, my statement about my FCP abilities is a bit childish, but im pretty proud of my skills as an editor. I hope this conversation doesn't degrade any further, FCP editors should stick together and rejoice the coming of Final Cut Pro Five, Tiger, and newfound riches (if you've invested in Apple's EXCELLENT stock)

if you want to know why im without an editing machine, its because i never actually owned that setup. it was from my boss who i did routine wedding edits for. he recently asked for it back because his home computer died. ****ed off i lost my setup? of course i am. it was wonderful.

currently, i've started my own business taping sweet 16s, which i am using to purchase my own system with money i have earned. this along with the money from selling off my car computer will get me a nice iMac and some decent ram for college..

Lucky you to have a recording studio. My school acquired pro-tools (Digi 002) this year and in a frenzy I rushed out and purchased it's "For Dummies" guide. Unfortunately, my school has yet to have any classes in strict audio engineering (hopefully my major-to-be in college). I am eventually giong to bring in my band to record an EP... a demo reel on two separate counts

so until then, my recorded use of pro-tools is relegated to radio shows, none of which im proud of because i'm on a country radio show...now theres nothing wrong with country, but the second the shows over i rush to my Ipod to get a "my bloody valentine" fix or something similar.
