    My 2 cents:
    WOW....how far technology has come:-) and look, a mac could do text to speech back in 1984! I still like to play around with the text to speech engine today to say all sorts of funky stuff.

    It's a nice story, but it's not true. This exact clip is on a computer history video at my school library. I doubled-checked after seeing the article on /.

    I do believe that this was the most significant technology announment to ever happen in the computer industry.

    LOL @ the capitalizt. I just tried playing the same words from the video clip as on my Mac OS X iBook. very much the same.

    i thought the same thing. In 20years a lot has changed, but a lot is still the same.

    Wow! The famed Reality Distortion Field (tm) stays intact and is transmitted through video! Come to think of it, maybe audio too. I have been spending way too much at the iTMS....
