The touchscreen CD that came with my screen had the OSX drivers on it. You don't have one, I'm guessing?
Anybody know where i can get the touchscreen drivers? The egalax.com or whatever its called site is down. I've searched extensivley.
No mine came with no osX drivers. Are you running the lilliput w/ os X? Do you have problems accessing the top/sides/bottom parts of the touchscreen? I cant seem to get the 4pt callibration to work either. Any advice?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Sorry, but no. I'm not yet up and running with a Mac. And I checked my disk -the drivers are for OS9! Sorry about that.
Supposedly, there are drivers for OSX. Hopefully someone here will notice this thread and post the location.
I tried to post them but the zip files are too large.
I recently bought a mac mini and plan to use it as my mobile computer, including carputer. I have yet to buy an lcd, because I was hoping to use a touchscreen, but am reluctant to buy one without working drivers. I have been researching and following these threads, but I STILL haven't seen anyone post a success story.
So has ANYONE successfully interfaced a touchscreen with OSX?
I have been given hope with the above WORKING link to egalax drivers for OSX, but will these work? Has anyone tried them? I'd like to hear from anyone who has! Im probably gonna break down and get the lilliput soon, whether I know if it works or not.
thanks mac macs
I'll be ordering the touchscreen later today!
Will the same drivers work with an 8" lilliput? the resolution is the same i believe...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38650
And the 7"
I cant justify getting the smaller screen when the 8" isnt much more $$$, unless it wont work!
OK looks like i may have solved my own problem. I have found this page:
http://www.newision.com/download.htm could be useful. Says it has all new versions of drivers and a help manual.
I think that the driver on http://www.digitalww.com/downloads.htm is an old one. Plus the first website I posted allows you to download a little helpful PDF.
I am running the drivers succesfully on my lilliput 7" touchscreen. I have also troubleshooted the 4 pt calibration and its working great. Really there was no problem, I just didn't know you were supposed to hold your pt. down for around 10 secs before it registers your touch to that point.
Next problem though:
My screen works great after it has been calibrated. I can access all points on the screen now. The outer edges unlike before can now be accessed. Only problem is for some reason my system will not save my calibration settings.
Meaning everytime i restart the computer, my calibration settings have been lost and the outer edges of my touchscreen can no longer be accessed. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and knows of a solution.
I am becoming more familiar w/ writing applescripts and have come up with a few great solutions bypassing the finder.
One of my concerns was a power button. I have created a powerbutton icon and developed a script that when double clicked will shutdown the system rather than going through the finder to shut down. Alot easier to access by touchscreen. Scripts like these are easy to write.
Also adjusting the size of your desktop icons through the view option at the top of the screen can make your icons very large and easily accessable. I plan to have around 8 applications on my desktop including my power button, itunes etc. Basically run everything off my desktop and only having to access the dock when you have a usb mouse or bluetooth mouse hooked up.
Anyways.. This info may be common sense to alot of you, but its starting to come together logically for me. At least until we come up w/ a mediacar type solution, this will work for now.
