    >> that's awesome, can you explain how you connected to your factory antenna?

    Basically I de-soldered the original 1-foot length of solid copper wire that was the original fm antenna in the radioshark. Then I soldered in a short piece of insulated wire, and connected that to the positive terminal on a motorola style jack that I got from radio shack. I didn't know if I should connect the ground of the jack to anything, so I left it unconnected (any ideas?). Just using the positive connection, the FM reception is 1000% better. I probably could have skipped the soldering and just snipped off the original fm wire and connected that to the jack. The stock antenna wire from the car just plugs right into the motorola jack (see my project website for more detailed pics/descriptions).

    hmmm - that's a tiny bit more complicated for me. I'm running a head unit between the computer and the speakers, which needs an antenna plugged into it, otherwise it won't power up. The head unit is under my passenger seat, so its not an option in terms of using for radio. I wonder if they make a splitter for the motorola jack... I am going to look into it and see what I can figure out. I also have a power antenna, so I need to find a way to trigger it and make it go up and down manually.

    fastmatt - as far as the software.. my bad, I didn't realize u were running a macpc... maybe you can try using some sort of remote for it or mapping keyboard buttons to a game controller of some sort... if u can do that on a mac?

    good luck on making everything work right, and I'll keep u updated when I get a chance to mess around with my setup.

    Very cool. How do you go about hacking the UI for a program like that? I'm using 10.3 panther.

    I right click on radioSHARK and select
    SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS
    then I open
    CONTENTS->RESOURCES->ENGLISH.LPROJ
    and rearrange SVELTE WINDOW
    then
    CONTENTS->RESOURCES
    and I resize most of the icon.
    More works need to be done but for now, I am happy.

    I also change
    CONTENTS->RESOURCES->ENGLISH.LPROJ->MAINMENU.NIB
    to include my name ;-)
