Ditto, been running several builds for some time, and am now running the final version.

Working very well, with only a couple of minor issues.

I believe that if worked correctly, the Widgets could work very nicely as a type of frontend. Granted, a full front end would be nicer, but there is so much that can be done with widgets as well.

I just started writing automation for OS X, mostly with Tiger. I've been PC only for years, it's been amazing to see just how cool OS X is. I think I'll be buying a Mac for home asap.

    Tiger rules, btw.

Too much hype behind it. I say that because I rarely use any of the 200+ new features. I only use Dashboard and QT7.

I must say that i am impressed with the overall performance boost of the tiger upgrade. Everything just seems to be a little faster now, it almost makes my mac mini usable :P.

I really like the changes to the developers tools, the new looks, and some additions in the interface builder palettes. Other than that I can't really tell the difference, which is a very good thing. I have yet to really dig into the api changes, mostly due to the fact that i am trying to avoid incompatibilities with 10.3.

Dashboard, eh, I don't really like the style of it. I never really use widgets, but i think that konfabulator is still better, but dashboard seems less resource intensive. I think that if they allowed the widgets on the desktop it would be more functional.

Quicktime 7 is pretty cool, watching "educational adult videos" at 3x is really really funny :P and quite smooth. The new apis are very nice too, I'll have to see what kind of magic i can do with them.

Spotlight is one of the most amazing things i have ever seen. Being able to search the entire content of you computer from a single menu is soooo cool. It really makes you wonder if this is going to be the future of computers organization schemes.

Safari RSS is very nice. I have yet to really play with it, but i think it may replace my current news reader.

One thing that is very noticeable, is the fact that the finder updates much better than before, ie if you are in terminal do, touch ~/Desktop/test and you will see the file almost instantly. This is a big change from 10.3 and i think that makes the upgrade worth it :P

    YAY a dictionary, enough said.

Automator, haven't touched it yet. I don't know if i ever will... If anyone finds use for it let me know.

I don't know if Zinio reader is new, but its an interesting magazine view that i just found on my computer. Pretty nifty, you should give it whirl if you have it, /Applications/Zinio.

    Yay finally a graphing app.

All in all i think it was worth the upgrade. I was never intending on writing an in-depth review, but just some off the top of my head thoughts about the changes. If you are looking for that crazy in-depth review check this site, http://arstechnica.com/reviews/os/macosx-10.4.ars , it has more information than you'll ever want to know.

umm, isnt it good for making a front end easily? I dont know but i thought looking into automator before tiger came out gave me the idea you could record tasks as scripts...

    Tiger in my trunk

Ok... it's not there yet... but when I saw the hotspot locater, I really got excited! I hope this thing isn't querying the internet for the information... that would be just ironic.

I upgraded both of my powerbooks on Friday morning. The upgrade scared the **** out of me when it first booted. It took 5 min! Subsequent boots have been a bit faster than 10.3. I upgraded both systems to QuickTime Pro. I look forward to using the new codec for re-encoding my music videos.

Unfortuatly MegaSeg didn't show up as an AppleScript target in Automator. I was really hoping that I could control it.

So, we have the cool a$$ os, and some great ways to play music... where the heck is our navigation software!? *grumble*
