    Overpriced Shipping

I would like to buy the CarNetix P1900 Mac Mini Power Button Cable Kit ( http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...roducts_id=108 ) but looked at the shipping prices... I believe mp3car.com/store ships everything in the same size box reguardless of the actual size of the product. To ship this simple wire kit would cost me $69.81 for nextday early AM via UPS to either Colorado zip codes 80113, 0r 80918. While to order a stick of ram from eshop.macsales.com with nextday early AM via UPS costs me 15.51. Can someone explain or maybe speak out against one size fits all shipping here at mp3car.com/store I don't think it would be that hard to ship this wire kit using an over night envelope which costs much less than the giant box that I have recieved twice for my xenarc and CNX-P1900. The box size is quite understandable for the xenarc but the size comparison for the CNX-P1900 is laughable if it didn't cost so much money. I didn't mind paying extra money the first two times because I'd like to support this site (just in case you guys are pocketing some of the shipping money) but it's just a few wires and paying almost 70 dollars to ship something that small and light overnight is overpriced!!! Please respond to my thread rather you agree or not but I don't want this to fall back with no one reading this.

FACTS: the ram I refered to is this randomly selected stick http://eshop.macsales.com/item/TechWorks/125290001/ I have called the mp3car.com/store to "beg" for a fair shipping price on this item but haven't heard a response (email or phone call) yet (to be fair it's only been six hours). I am willing to pay up to 20 dollars to have this shipped overnight to me because I need this ASAP with what little time I have to work on my Jeep.

OWC, Macsales.com is a fairly large vendor that has been around for long time and does huge volumes. I donít think MP3CAR is really in their class yet.

Folks like OWC have special relationships with shippers to drive their shipping costs down. That said I went there and priced out a DVD-RW for shipping comparison, they were about the same as MP3CAR for most options. Overnight was cheaper.

I agree that they could drop that cable in an USPS express mail envelope and drive the cost down. Perhaps they could look into this as a shipping option for small items. I am sure that their catalog shipping works on flat rounded weights or something similar. Less than a pound might equal 1 pound or less on shipping.

I added to a shopping cart the P1900 and the cable kit. I found that their shipping was very reasonable, and that they had an option for USPS Priority. I was very pleased to see that. When I order my P1900 I will use that option. To get my goodies in 3 days or less for under $10.00 seems great to me.

This is NOT a flame, I just find your thoughts on shipping humorous since I ship around 30-40 packages a day.

$20 for overnight Early AM? Are you kidding? That is funny!

A letter, yes a LETTER via Fed-Ex is $17.50 for 10:30 am delivery. And that is a maximum of 8 ounces.

Direct from UPS's website, a 2 pound package from Wichita, Ks (where I am) to you in Colorado (which is pretty close actually) is $76 for early AM and $45 for standard. This unit probably weights more than that with proper packing etc.

Shipping is expensive, and to equate a stick of ram to something like a power supply is off base.

No... I'm not trying to ship a CNX-P1900 for 20 dollars overnight. I would like to have the "CarNetix P1900 Mac Mini Power Button Cable Kit" ( http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...242a688d0f41d7 ) which is 6 wires and four plastic ends.

:::sigh::: I already have the CNX-P1900... I just need the cable kit.

DOH...my fault there....That's what I get for posting before having my moring coffee!

$63 for a cable? Now that is a bit off....But it still would be more then $20 for Next Day AM, but not $63....

Thank you for your understanding Derek. I just want to know the cost for UPS's overnight with one of their own envelopes.

UPS does not list unless you go through their tool:
    http://wwwapps.ups.com/calTimeCost?loc=en_US

UPS recently just added another fuel surcharge also:-( I've ordered $2m worth of hardware/software for my company and felt that one.

another option is to go to Office Depot and find out...most have UPS shipping centers and the rates displayed.

We are on the east coast coming from 21117 so the price will be a bit high but 69.81 sounds a bit crazy.

We have the weight listed in the cart at 1lb so something must be funky with the UPS shipping calculation software.

We will look into this on Monday. If you want to buy this please go ahead and order it - Please put in the notes that I said there should be a 20 dollar discount on the shipping for early AM service ONLY and we will edit the final price Please put your request in all caps surrounded by a bunch of *****s.
