Radio Shark is not scriptable which makes it tough to include in the front-end.
I guess one could use USB Prober and watch what gets sent to and from the device and try to "hijack" the communication but I guess it's not that easy to accomplish.
quickly: is it skinnable? it looks like a really great design, but I really don't like the looks of some of the buttons. I'd much rather have a clean interface w/ text only than ones w/ a lot of pictures. BTW, I LOVE the minimized button. nice and simple.
Also, can you implement some keyboard shortcuts? a powermate would work well for things like volume and next/last songs.
Also, in the future, I would like the option to use the app to control itunes, via applescriptin or something. I know that some here don't like to use it, but I live by it. Plus i've got a lot of purchased songs that can't be decoded by ccar.

Cant you just make the looks the same as ccar? And make ccar point to the external radioshark software?Originally Posted by iKenndac
Yes, radioSHARK is scriptable. Griffin released a beta version (see here) that adds AppleScript support (as well as a plugin for Salling Clicker; the available scripts can actually be found in that plugin).Originally Posted by Ph75
The interface has changed, but still is terrible, especially for touch screen users with finger bigger than a match.
Hope to see some CC integration soon!
Then it should be quite easy to create an NSAppleScript and run the scripts on the fly, i.e. what is scriptable in the radioShark application could be run from the front end without too much effort.Originally Posted by mini_velvetred
I included the support for running arbitrary applescripts read from a xml-file into my front-end and it was quite easy to implement. The same goes for unix-scripts.
I think that the major change to the application would be to make it skinnable (if that was to be implemented) since that would change the whole structure of the code.
Feature Request:
I was in my friend's audi, and I saw that it has a multifunction LCD in the dash. I've got some room in my dash to throw in a serial LCD, would there be any way to have the current track/other info output to a serial LCD?
Has it really been half a month since the last nightly build? I can't wait to see what's next. Hopefully 800 x 600, video and a button that minimizes it and lauches route 66.
Mike
I love the work you're doing!

Dayum. I just downloaded this thing. I absolutely love it. A few things I am thinking might be useful. May have been discussed allready.
1. I am having a problem pressing the minimize button in the lower right hand corner. My screen is pretty tight and it often takes me 5 or so tries to get CC to minimize. If the button was a 1/4 of an inch bigger towards the left it would be absolutely perfect.
2. The program has no memory of where you were previously scrolling through music. Meaning, if you play a song and go to the play menu, then back to the same playlist, it starts you back over at the beginning. Forcing you to scroll through all (250 pages for me) of your music. If it could just send you back to whatever song you are currently playing instead of the beginning of the playlist, that would be great.
3. For some reason I have about a 1 inch gap at the top of the screen. Maybe its the resolution I'm running. I will have to check on that.
Other than that I'm loving this thing. If only it was skinable, I would like to continue my orange theme. Maybe in the future?...
Anyways I'm just checking this application out and I have to say great job!
There's a "ghetto" way to skin this app. Download the source code and, using Interface Builder, change it as you like.
You'll have to recompile, using XCode though.

I decided to try and make a control bar the way I would like to see it. This is not easy! I used Auto CAD r12 and solid modeling to render this with autovision. Then added some words in Corel Draw. I like the top one since it has amber LCD text like my car radio. I like using the entire bottom of the screen for buttons that are easy to locate. Current song/ time and other info could be placed in a window above it?
