To change the title of the button, use this:

set title of button x of window "yourWindowName" to "play"

If you set it to a variable and that variable is an object like a list object, you can't set it directly, like this:

set title of button x of window "yourWindowName" to objVariable

you have to set it to the contents of that variable:

set title of button x of window "yourWindowName" to contents of objVariable

okay ... so instead of just sitting here and *****ing about what would make this program really cool I took the liberty to dive headfirst into the unknown and toy around with stuff ... and I'm going to work on getting a skin together for this ... Karr Bros I hope you don't mind but this means I'm changing your logo on the front .... I also added a couple more icons but I still need to mess around with it some and find some better icons or a program to make my own icons ... so yes, here is a shot of what I've been working on the past hour or so ....

okay .. can't figure out the correct way to post a pic so there's a link.

We don't mind at all. It looks good. I figure everyone has their own prefs and for now if people want to just edit the code then great maybe down the road we will make it easier to customize but practicality comes first. Oh and we ask that when your adoring fans worship you for your car that remember the little guys. Haha seriously all input is welcome.

the link at the start of the thread is it. then after you download it comand+click (right click if you have a 2 button) on the apple script app and select "show package contents"
from there you can get to everything, or at least that's how I did it.

    still moving along

Hey everyone. I just got back from Toyota down in KY and my brother and I should be ready for a release fairly soon. There is some debugging to be done on the iTunes playlist and search manager features but Joel should be done soon. I am trying to look ahead at the DVD or Quicktime player options and needed some input. I am not sure if you can play a video or DVD in an applescript application but I would like to give it a try. Other options are making it so that the video just floats on top of the application and you still control it with iKarr or maybe you just call it from iKarr as well as choose the video or dvd. Let me know if anyone has ideas on how to program this or how to do it. We are always open for new programmers or code since we are kind of learning as we go. Thanks

You can play a Quicktime video right in the application using Applescript. Check out the video tab in the Harmony app I sent you. Script is called "videoTab.scpt". I believe you can also set the size of that quicktime window via the application, so you can run it full screen if you want.

Thanks Bugbyte I was looking at that. I need to play with it a little but I wasnt sure if you could play DVDs through that. Thanks for the help and if all else fails I can just make it a DVD launcher and quicktime player.
