I like the idea of having odbII diagnostics but havent had a chance to look at that pyodb site. Is is scriptable? If so it could be added prity easy

Yeah, I hadn't done anything with DVD. Of course you can use applescript to control the DVD player, so that's an option.

I'm sure you can play a DVD, though...

[Edit: It looks remarkably similar to just playing a quicktime video. Here's link to a tutorial on how to applescript the DVD player. I presume you can set an NSMovieView Cocoa control to receive the video, just like you can a quicktime video stream]

I am starting to try to work with iCal. Right now I am able to manipulate iCal but am not able to import the events into iKarr. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get an event into a text field or data field using applescript? I assume that it is something like this
tell application "iCal"
set contents of text field "name" to event at date "9/2/05"
end tell

Of course it would involve all of the tab view and such but this is just for testing purposes. If anyone can sucessfully import events into a text field please let me know.

NEW RELEASE!!! We added some buttons to an iTunes options tab and fixed some naming things. Also added a library/playlist viewer and when you double click a song it plays. Take and look and let us know what you think.

I agree on the odbII stuff but havent gotten a chance to look at pyodb either and I dont have a connector. If anyone has a connector for a mac(usb I'm guessing) let me know where you got it and I'll try and look into it. Bugbyte I am going to look into the nsmovieview more although for some reason I dont seem to have that in my Cocoa-Data window. Haven't searched much yet though

JKarr, I do not have carputer yet but have been reading about it quite a bit on this forum. I noticed that you go to u of i and figured I'd tell you I am going to be going there this fall and would be interested in maybe helping you out on this app. I just got my first mac, powerbook, so I have xcode and everything. My programming experience is not too great but I am currently working on learning VB and a little C++ and would imagine that applescript can't be too hard to pick up on. Anyway just thought I'd throw this out there and by the way I have quite a few ideas for your frontend you could incorporate later on down the road.

Hey TB6387. Both my brother and I go to U of I and he is helping me with this. He is actually a CS major and I am an EE but neither of us have a ton of applescript experience. We could use all the help we can get and ideas are always welcome. We do have a fairly planned out vision but it can always be changed and is being changed. He is there right now and I will be back in a few weeks but if you want to start helping thats great. Thanks
